About the Project
This project was created to improve the quality of ICU specific processes and procedures, and to train for both common and unusual incidents. Simulations included cases of acute refractory hypoxia when caused by severe asthma exacerbation or traumatic aortic valve insufficiency, cardiogenic shock due to bradyarrthmia and pacemaker malfunctions, as well as a massive hemorrhage due to blunt thoracoabdominal trauma. The training was led by Dr. Andrew McLaren, Dr. Bryan Wells, and Dr. Mike Kenyon, and participation included Physicians, ICU RNs, and RT support.
