Speakers:

Dr. Chris Richardson

  • Dr. Chris Richardson is a Scientist with the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcomes Sciences (CHEOS) at St. Paul’s Hospital where he leads the Psychosocial Epidemiology Program and conducts research on the role of mental health and substance use on the psycho-social functioning of underserved populations. He is a Research Associate with the Canadian Collaboration for Prison Health and Education (CCPHE) at the School of Population and Public Health where he is leading a project to develop a series of interventions focused on raising awareness of the links between trauma, resiliency and health-related behavior among men with a history of incarceration. He is also involved with several ongoing studies on the development and evaluation of online interventions to support the mental health of post-secondary students and monitoring the mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to his academic research, Dr. Richardson is also a long time board member of the Stigma Free Society.

Kate Roth

  • Kate Roth is a Project Manager with the Canadian Collaboration for Prison Health and Education (CCPHE) in the School of Population and Public Health at UBC. Kate joined CCPHE in 2016 and is currently managing a five-year project aimed at developing trauma and resiliency-informed supports for men with a history of incarceration. Kate graduated from UBC with a Masters degree in Anthropology in 2015.
