About the Event
The BC Cancer Primary Care Learning Sessions aim to deliver a virtual and customized interactive community-based small group session for primary care providers and cancer care specialists in the East Kootenays.
During the certified 1.5-hour session, a panel of experts will briefly review key learnings from the Breast Cancer online module. Learners will then have the opportunity to build connections and foster a community of practice with their local General Practitioner in Oncology (GPO), Medical Oncologist from Kelowna’s Regional Cancer Centre, Family Physician champion, and peers by way of discussing clinical and community-specific questions.
To gain the full benefit of this learning opportunity, we strongly recommend that learners complete the Breast Cancer online module prior to attending the virtual session.
- Review learnings from Breast Cancer online module.
- Identify and ask clinical and community-specific questions of panelists on breast cancer screening, management, and follow-up.
- Integrate key learnings and resources from online module and session to support patients with breast cancer using a shared care model.
